Noor-Us-Sabah, meaning “Light of Dawn”, was built in the 1920s by Nawab Hamidullah Khan for his eldest daughter, Begum Abida Sultan. Today it is a heritage hotel with 57 rooms and suites, set in 13 acres of manicured gardens above the Upper Lake. Rooms range from Standard and Royal Club to Premium Club, Crown Club Suites and a Presidential Suite, many with lake-view balconies. Za-aiqa serves Awadhi and Mughlai food, Ming Dynasty serves Chinese, and Marble Arch offers multi-cuisine dining on a lakeside lawn. Café Latté handles coffee and snacks. The palace has a swimming pool, a business centre and 10 event spaces, including lake-facing lawns, so it is popular for weddings and conferences. Despite the quiet, it sits within the city.
