Manuabhan Tekri, also known as Mahaveer Giri, is a revered Jain pilgrimage site perched on a hill in Sun City, Lalghati, Bhopal. The hilltop houses a Jain temple said to contain the footwear of revered saints and the idol of Shri Manbhadarji, making it a significant destination for meditation and devotion within the Jain community. Most visitors reach the summit via a scenic ropeway that offers a bird’s-eye view of the city en route — an adventurous alternative to the footpath — though people with acrophobia are advised to consider the walking route instead. From the top, visitors are rewarded with sweeping panoramic views over Bhopal’s skyline, the Upper Lake, and even planes taking off from the nearby airport, making it one of the city’s most popular sunrise and sunset spots. Nearby attractions include a “Park and Garden” area with photo-friendly giant shell and dinosaur figures, and a trail leading to the Sree Bal Hanuman Mandir hidden among the greenery. The serene, open-air hilltop setting also makes it a favourite for morning walks, meditation, and family picnics, though it can get crowded on weekends.
