Bittan Market is one of the busiest local markets in New Bhopal, in Shivaji Nagar near Arera Colony. It combines permanent shops with a weekly evening haat, where visitors say more than 250 stalls sell vegetables and about 50 sell fruit, along with crockery, utensils and clothes. The permanent shops include brands like Peter England, Bata, Titan and Wildcraft, plus bakeries, spice sellers, footwear and bag stores, gadget shops and gift shops that personalise mugs, notebooks, T-shirts and photo frames. State emporiums such as Mrignayanee and Tribes India stock handlooms and handicrafts. Food stalls serve chaat, chole bhature and pav bhaji, and the market ground hosts occasional food festivals. It is a relaxed place for shopping, snacks and an evening stroll.
