The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) is a premier autonomous national institute established in 1982 by India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), with early financial and technical support from the Swedish International Development Agency. Set on a hilltop campus of over 200 acres in Nehru Nagar, Bhopal, it is dedicated to education, research, consultancy and training in forest, environment, sustainability and natural resource management. IIFM is best known for its flagship MBA-equivalent programs, the Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PGDFM) and Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Management (PGDSM), alongside a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), its doctoral-level offering. Beyond regular academics, it trains officers of the Indian Forest Service and state forest departments, and partners with organisations like ITTO, UNDP, GIZ and IIM Indore.
